The art and skill of making great espresso coffee is one that requires patience and a passion. The Daily Grind Coffee Company offers all customers an opportunity to hone their skills or enhance their knowledge with a comprehensive training programme. With ongoing support and good sound advice we can help you achieve the best quality results.
They say in order to produce a great espresso coffee there are three important factors that will influence the outcome, and each of these three factors in the following doses are:
• 1. About 50% - Barista skills
• 2. About 30% - Good quality espresso coffee machine
• 3. About 20% - Good quality freshly roasted coffee
The art and science of espresso for anyone who calls themselves a barista is one of the most enjoyable and most satisfying skills to acquire. The variables are such that we often strive to achieve or to replicate the perfect espresso coffee, but unfortunately it often alludes us. This is the challenge we gladly accept. As the saying goes "you are only as good as your last cup", so the focus, eye for detail and speed of the operator are what makes a good barista.
Our classes are based on a hands on approach making it fun, enjoyable and instructive, so whether you are just beginning the coffee journey, or the need to brush up on your skills we provide training workshops for all.
The course covers a wide range of topics including:
• Coffee roasting styles
• To blend or not to blend
• The basics of the espresso machine and grinder, what to look for
• Selecting the right grind of coffee
• Dosing and tamping,
• Getting the right extraction
• Milk texturing
• Producing a variety of different coffee styles
• Machine maintenance
• How to store your coffee
Class sizes range from one person or in groups of up to 8 persons max.
LEASING OR PURCHASING OF EQUIPMENT
The Daily Grind Coffee Co. is pleased to be able to supply and service Wega and Isomac Coffee Espresso Machines and BNZ Coffee Grinders
The Daily Grind can also assist with lease to purchase contracts with minimal weekly repayments to help with cash flow. We are also able to service most brands of coffee machines and grinders.
